Mr. Grey, Master Wandmaker, and founder of Dogwood Wand Company, after brief studies of wandcraft in Salem, traveled much of Europe and Eastern Asia studying with age-old crafters. It is widely disputed what gives Mr. Grey's wands their uniquely bold response to casting spells, but one thing that is unanimously agreed upon is that he crafts each wand by hand using a knife forged from a link of chain in the fire of the dragon that it held captive—the last in North America. Some say Mr. Grey soaks the wood of each wand in a mineral hot spring shown to him by a Sioux shaman, said to be the collected tears of a single phoenix after learning it was the last of its kind on the continent. Others say his wands are only carved in the first hours of every full moon. Needless to say, Dogwood Wand Company wands are a rarity if ever there was such a thing among wands, and only the most skilled wizards and witches are able to use the wands' full potential.
